Introducing: Magnolia Neighborhood

Neighborhood Magnolia, also called GovCo, is the last of Stanford’s eight neighborhoods and is also located on Stanford’s western side. Frosh within Neighborhood Magnolia will reside in either Potter, Robinson, and Schiff. These dorms have a variety of room types but mainly feature 2-room doubles. 

Potter

Potter is one of three all-frosh dorms within Neighborhood Magnolia. Nearby Potter stands the education farms, tennis courts, the driving range, golf course, and Red Barn. Potter is also close to Lake Lagunita and AOERC. Potter is led by Ben and JIll Patton. Both Ben and JIll attended Stanford as undergraduates. Ben is the Vice President of Finance for Idemitsu Renewables’ U.S. solar project development team. JIll is currently senior editor for STANFORD magazine, which provides bimonthly publications for over 230,000 Stanford alumni. 

Robinson

Robinson is located in the core of the Sterling Quad in Neighborhood Magnolia. Robinson is close to Ricker Dining and features various amenities. Robinson’s Resident Fellow is Jenny Langer-Osuna. She is an Associate Professor of Education at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education. This was the frosh dorm of Volunteer and Design OC, Omotolani.  

Schiff

Schiff is the last all-frosh dorm in Neighborhood Magnolia. It is also located within the Sterling Quad. Schiff is within walking distance to the West Campus tennis courts and the Stanford Golf Learning Center. Jennifer and Scott Calvert are the Resident Fellows for Schiff. Scott works as a video maker, editor, and storytelling consultant. Jennifer works in Student Affairs at Stanford.
